The Capital Market Authority held a panel discussion today, Monday, titled “Opportunities to Use Technology in the Insurance Sector” as part of its partnership with the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Empowerment and in collaboration with the Palestinian Insurance Federation, with support from the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).

The panel discussion included Deputy Chairman of the Palestinian Insurance Federation, Nihad Assad, and representatives from the entrepreneurship sector in Palestine, including Majd Khalifa, the Director of the “Flow” business accelerator, and Mona Demaidi, the Director of the N Gate program. The event was attended by a group of partners, entrepreneurs, and individuals interested in this field.

On his part, Ayman Al-Sabbah, the Director of the Insurance Directorate at the PCMA, emphasized that this event is part of the PCMA’s strategy to develop the insurance sector, leverage financial technology, stay updated with developments in this context, and enhance the insurance services available to all stakeholders, especially citizens, by making these services more accessible.

The speakers discussed the vision for insurance technology within insurance companies and the entrepreneurial sector, as well as the challenges and obstacles that hinder tangible progress. Additionally, they also explored the interventions required to embrace and develop technological solutions in the insurance industry.
